Why:

Knowing what it is that you are not allowing to be is a critical step to start training your mind to allow it to be.

How:

Take about 10 to 15 minutes for this exercise. Settle yourself down first, you can use a short Focus meditation for this if that helps. Then ask yourself the following question:

  • What is it that I want or do not want?

Sit with this question for a while and write down what comes up for you. Try to be brutally honest with yourself, it is the only way. Try to do this exercise a couple of times on different days to see if your answers change.

Tip:

This exercise might not be so easy. You can finish off with a kindness to self meditation if that feels right.
